On May 29, the Industrial Accident Victims' Group of Ontario (IAVGO) and Advocates for Injured Workers (AIW) student clinic celebrated its 25th anniversary in Toronto.

Operating as a satellite clinic of the IAVGO, AIW is a unique student clinic dedicated to providing high quality legal services to injured workers.

A champion of human rights and international law, Harold Hongju Koh receives U of T honorary degree

As a legal scholar, Harold Hongju Koh’s contributions in international and human rights law have helped transform the conduct of international relations. 

As a practising lawyer, he has both served under four presidents in the U.S. government – and litigated against it. And as a professor at Yale University, he draws on his knowledge and experience to teach and mentor the next generation of lawyers.

In total, 208 JDs are joining an impressive global network of more than 11,500 law alumni.

As the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society (SRI) enters its sixth year in operation, world-leading computer security expert David Lie will take on the role of the institute’s director, while two renowned AI safety experts—Roger Grosse and David Duvenaud—are being appointed Schwartz Reisman Chairs in Technology and Society.

U of T Law graduate Anita Szigeti (LLB 1990) is the founding lawyer of Anita Szigeti Advocates, a Toronto firm focusing on mental health and the law. She is currently co-director of the Mental Health Law course within the Health Law LLM at Osgoode Professional Development, where she obtained a Certificate in Tribunal Adjudication in 2018.
