Beaver Lake Cree Nation's Legal Case Event

This is a collaboration event with RAVEN Trust, an organization that takes on fundraising for groundbreaking challenges in partnership with Indigenous Nations. Beaver Lake Cree Nation is one of the communities with litigation that RAVEN supports. They have already gone to the SCC once on an Advanced Costs Order (Anderson v Alberta 2022 SCC 6) and are preparing for a trial in 2026 on their case relating to the cumulative effects that industry has had on their treaty rights and territory. We are planning an event to talk about the case and share the work of the Nation in fighting against industry and the oil sands, as well as to speak about their legal work going to the SCC once and still having to go to trial.
