The inaugural celebration for the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS) took place on Monday October 27, and Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in London, England with Dean Mayo Moran in attendance. The opening celebration was webcast live. Click here to watch the webcast

The CTLS is a major academic initiative involving U of T and a number of the world's top law schools including Georgetown, Fribourg, Hebrew University, Melbourne, the National University of Singapore and King's College, London. It is a global education centre where students and faculty from all over the world will come together to contribute to an understanding of trans-national legal norms, institutions and processes. Professor David Dyzenhaus is the faculty's lead on the initiative. Professors Kerry Rittich and Stephen Waddams are the faculty's first members teaching at the CTLS, and are joined this year by nine of our students.

"U of T's Faculty of Law has been involved from the very beginning stages of this exciting program," says Dean Mayo Moran, who will be attending the opening. "We are delighted that both our faculty and students have this opportunity to experience a unique, collaborative teaching environment that exposes them to the very best and brightest minds in specific legal disciplines," she adds.

On Tuesday, October 28, Professor Kerry Rittich  spoke at the session Global Legal Education: Reflections from the Faculty of the Center for Transnational Legal Studies. A webcast is available
