Using everything from crayons to holiday cookie sprinkles, dozens of children of U of T law students, staff and faculty expressed their creative side in the Faculty's Kids for PEACE Holiday Art Show.

The children -- ranging in age from 18 months to 15 years - submitted drawings and canvases that focused on the theme of peace, using variations on images of doves, the planet Earth and peace signs. Many older children also submitted vibrantly coloured abstracts and integrated the theme of diversity, multiculturalism and friendship into their pictures.

9/11 may or may not have fundamentally changed the world, but it did change the way governments conduct counter-terrorism. The constant mantra after 9/11 has been the need to break the walls between agencies and countries that prevent the sharing of intelligence.

Ian Binnie and Louise Charron announced their intention to retire from the Supreme Court of Canada at the end of August more than three months ago. Yet it was only on Aug. 5 that the Minister of Justice announced the appointment procedure the federal government intended to follow in appointing their successors on the Court.

Award Donors Reception, 2011

About 50 donors, students and Faculty of Law supporters turned out March 1, 2011, for the annual Award Donor reception to bring donors face-to-face with the students they have helped through our financial aid and academic prize programs.

Dean Mayo Moran talked about the significant and crucial role these aid program plays at the law school, and how it would not be possible without private supporters, such as David MacDonald, LLB 1981.
