This past weekend, U of T Law mooters, Micheal Antifaoff (3L), Shireen Faisal (2L) (Respondents) and Michael Barbour (2L) and Dimitris Logothetis (3L) (Appellants) competed with great success at The Harold G. Fox Moot at the Federal Court in Toronto.

All received oralist awards and were awarded two out of four factum prizes:

  • Micheal A. and Shireen took home the overall prize of the Fox Moot Cup and received the Runner-up Respondent Factum.
  • Michael B. and Dimitris were semi-finalists and were awarded the Best Appellant Factum
  • Shireen was named a Best Oral Advocate and Best Mooter 2L Class and will advance to compete at the Oxford IP Moot.

Their adjunct instructor, Andrew M. Shaughnessy, a partner at Torys, noted U of T Law has a long and rich history of excellence in written advocacy and the team has continued in this tradition. Emily P. Kettel (JD 2008), a partner at Bennett Jones, is also an adjunct instructor of the team.

The team was also coached by 3L students Mina Alam, Avital SterninRebecca Tyli and Alessia Woolfe, who were part of the first all-female team to compete with great success at last year's Fox moot.
