U of T Law places third Best Factum at Gale Cup Moot

Now in its 48^th year, The Gale Cup Moot, is Canada's premier bilingual law-school mooting competition and focuses on constitutional-criminal law. The 2021 Moot was held virtually February 26 and 27.

U of T Law appellants (Emily Tessier and  Ema Ibrakovic) won the 3rd Best Factum prize at the moot. All four mooters (Tessier, Ibrakovic, Militza Boljevic, and Sophie Zhao) showed incredible knowledge of the caselaw and unwavering composure in the face of some very tough questioning! 

Very proud of team's work this year are adjunct moot advisors are Paul-Erik Veel, Partner, Lenczner Slaght; Sinziana Hennig, Associate, Stikeman Elliott; and student coaches Saambavi Mano, Teodora Pasca, Olivia Eng, and William Mazurek. Student researcher, Sean Grouhi, 2L, provided invaluable assistance to the appellants in drafting and finalizing their factum.
