Moderated by Ellen Roseman,Toronto Star

(Toronto) The Faculty of Law is pleased to celebrate the book launch of Middle Income Access to Justice (Michael Trebilcock, Anthony Duggan and Lorne Sossin, eds.) with a Town Hall on November 21, 2012, moderated by consumer advocate, reporter and blogger Ellen Roseman, of the Toronto Star.

The discussion will centre on the latest issues and developments in the access to justice crisis, particularly for middle-income Canadians. Leading figures from the Ontario legal community will give updates on family, consumer/debtor-creditor and employment law and open the discussion to the public. View the list of speakers here.

The book is the culmination of the ideas, strategies and concrete solutions resulting from the Faculty of Law’s successful 2011 Access to Justice Colloquium, with keynote speaker SCC Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin. The colloquium tapped into the brightest legal minds in the academy, legal profession and organizations across Canada, the US and overseas to effect change in the legal landscape for Canadians caught in the middle—too rich to receive public legal aid, not rich enough to afford legal fees.
