(Nov. 17, 2010) JD student Aaron Levenstadt has won the annual James H. Bocking Memorial Award, given by the Canadian Bar Association. The Award, established by the National Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association in conjunction with the Competition Bureau, recognizes the best scholarly paper on the subject of competition law or policy by a full-time student or lawyer within three years of his/her call to the bar.

Levenstadt's essay, "Instituting An Indirect Purchaser Checkpoint: A Case For Blocking Illinois Brick at the Canadian Border," was an adaptation of a Supervised Upper Year Research Paper ("SUYRP") that he wrote for Prof. Ed Iacobucci's class on competition policy.

Levenstadt was invited to the Canadian Bar Association's 2010 Competition Law Conference in September, where the award was presented in conjunction with the Keynote address delivered by Melanie Aitken, Commissioner of the Competition Bureau.
