Congratulations to second-year JD students Maria Bon, Justin Gharibo, Celine Tsang and Angelina Zhang who were named the runner-up oralist team at this year’s, Immigration Refugee, and Citizenship (IRC) Law Moot. Gharibo also received the third place oralist award.

The IRC Moot is a national, bilingual event that brings together law students, lawyers, and judges from across the country to advance legal education related to issues of migration. The Moot was founded in 2020 by a group of dedicated members of the Canadian immigration law bar.

The team was coached by third-year JD students Yashleen Jhand and Abby Sasitharan and Adjunct Professors Joycna Kang, a partner at Battista Migration Law, and Nicholas Woodward, also a partner at Battista Migration Law.
