Reunion 2009
Shelley Timms '84 and Anne Corbett '79

For some alumni, like Sylvia Jacob '84, it was their first time at Reunion. After 25 years, she says it was time to return and share stories with former class mates.

She was one of more than 300 alumni who attended Reunion 2009 on October 23, which kicked off with a cocktail event at Flavelle House for people to chat and catch up with former law school pals.

Pam Hardie ’79 agrees. “It's fun to see old friends that you normally don't keep in touch with,” she says.

Class of '69 had the largest turnout - an enthusiastic group of 54 law grads, including Justice John C. Murray who keeps returning because "I liked this place when I was here."

In-the-public-eye alumni included Ontario Attorney-General Chris Bentley '79 and Toronto Mayor David Miller '84.

After catching up with one another over drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the Rowell Room, alumni went off to enjoy dinners at various Toronto restaurants, such as Hart House Grill, Mistura, Bistro 990, Windsor Arms and more.  For some classes, Reunion activities occurred over lunches and brunch later in the week.

We wanted to know in their own words why people attended, and if they had any advice to share with the class of 2010. "Take your time when making decisions about what you want to do and where you'd like to work," says Deirdre McKenna '99. "No decision is final-you can always change your mind."

But rather than write all about their sage advice, we thought you'd like to be part of the Reunion scene.
