On June 18, 2024, the Hon. Arif Virani (LLB 1998), Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced the appointment of Justice Colleen Yamashita (JD 2004) to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in Milton.

Justice Yamashita grew up in Hamilton, graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 2001 and a JD from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law in 2004. She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2005.

Operating as a satellite clinic of the IAVGO, AIW is a unique student clinic dedicated to providing high quality legal services to injured workers.
