As you look to celebrate the holiday season a bit differently this year, I wish to take this opportunity to share with you my annual look-back at another notable year at U of T Law. This is also an especially appropriate time for me to reflect on the recent past, as my time as Dean comes to a close at the end of this month.

The Bertha Wilson Honour Society was established in 2012 in tribute to The Honourable Madam Justice Bertha Wilson – the first woman appointed to the Ontario Court of Appeal and the first female Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

The Bertha Wilson Honour Society at the Schulich School of Law, at Dalhousie University, recognizes their extraordinary alumni and showcases their geographic reach and contributions to law and society.

The latest list of Order of Canada appointments and promotions were announced Friday by Governor General Julie Payette.

The Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest civilian honours and recognizes people whose service, innovations and compassion shape Canadian society, foster imagination and unite people and communities.
