The "Legal Eagles" team, L-R: John Boland, Jim Phillips, Sooin Kim, Markus Dubber, Mohammad Fadel, Gian Medves, Simon Stern.

It's a law school trifecta! For the third consecutive year, the Faculty of Law "Legal Eagles" team of faculty and staff have won the University of Toronto United Way campaign's "CN Tower Cup Challenge" in the staff/faculty category. The seven members of the Law team raised $2,840, a thousand dollars more than last year, by climbing the steps to the top of the CN tower at the crack of dawn on Sunday October 24, 2010.

The law team was made up of Acting Chief Law Librarian Gian Medves, Faculty Services Librarian Sooin Kim, Reference Librarian John Bolan, and Professors Markus Dubber, Mohammad Fadel, Jim Phillips, and Simon Stern.

John Bolan was the fastest with a time of under 17 minutes. Gian Medves heroically completed the climb despite having tripped and fallen the previous day and seriously bruising his knee.

The Faculty of Medicine won the cup in the student category, with 79 students raising $11,012.
