LLM candidate Nathan Gorham wrote an oped in the Toronto Star recently on the issue of police officers who lie under oath. Gorham, a criminal trial and appeal lawyer, argued critical safeguards against dishonesty and corruption in Ontario’s justice system have been diluted over the years. In a commentary in The Globe and Mail, Prof. Michael Trebilcock looks at the issue of compensation for those who lose out because of changes in public policy ("How to take the sting out of policy transitions," April 30, 2015). The commentary is based on his book Dealing With Losers: The Political Economy of Policy Transitions, which has been awarded the Donner Prize for the best book on public policy written by a Canadian.

Law students from the Class of 2017 hang out during orientation week last fall.

 

The University of Toronto Faculty of Law was once again ranked the No. 1 law school in Canada, according to the 2015 QS World University Rankings by Subject released today.

The QS rankings are considered among some of the most prominent global rankings, and uses academic and employer reputational data and research citations in its computations.
