Margot Young is Professor in the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia.  Her scholarship and teaching focus on the intersection of social justice and human rights, including housing, poverty, social citizenship, equality rights, and environmental justice.  She has recently finished 9 years as Member and then Chair of the Board of Directors of the David Suzuki Foundation and currently is on the Board of the Suzuki Institute. She has finished a stint as Director of the UBC Centre for Feminist Legal Studies and continues to sit on the Board of Justice for Girls and as research associate with the Broadbent Institute and the Canadian Centre for Policy Analysis—BC Office.
