Externship Advisor

David Gourlay is a litigation lawyer with the City of Toronto. He has a broad civil and administrative litigation practice, representing the City and its agencies and boards before the courts and administrative tribunals. David’s practice focuses on applications for judicial review, challenges to City By-laws, defamation proceedings, civil litigation including municipal and police litigation, and coroner’s inquests. He also provides policy advice on business licensing and regulation and defamation issues. David has a J.D. from U of T, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2005. He joined the City in 2010 after several years in private practice with a large firm.
