Canadian Income Tax Law

Note: Students cannot take more than one workshop for credit in a given year.

This seminar runs in conjunction with the James Hausman Tax Law and Policy Workshop. The James Hausman Tax Law and Policy Workshop brings emerging and internationally-recognized tax law and policy scholars to the law school to present their current research.

In past years, the workshop has featured presentations by researchers from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Israel, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

This seminar will be offered by Professor Robin Morgan.  He holds a JD and BCL from McGill University and an LLM and SJD from Harvard Law School, where he was a John M. Olin Fellow of Law and Economics. Professor Morgan’s research focuses on tax law, public economics and finance.  Prior to joining us, he practiced tax law at a major international law firm in New York.

Evaluation
Students are expected to attend all workshop meetings and to prepare a two-page (approx. 600 word) comment in advance of each workshop (90%). Students’ participation in workshops’ question-and-answer discussions will also be evaluated (10 percent). Note: Students must pass both the paper and the participation component to receive credit for the workshop.
