Teachers Our teaching faculty includes some of the finest doctrinal and theoretical legal scholars in public and private law. The diversity of research interests amongst the faculty allows us to supervise graduate research in almost all areas of legal scholarship.
Scholarly Diversity Our pluralistic academic community invites a variety of approaches to legal scholarship (including, but not limited to, feminism and the law, law and economics, legal history, law and society, analytical jurisprudence and critical legal theory).
Interdisciplinarity Over a third of our faculty are cross-appointed to other faculties and departments, and this commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship encourages students to position their legal research within a broader, interdisciplinary context. The Faculty has strong connections to other centres and divisions within the University and students can often take courses in other disciplines.
Supervision Strong relationships with faculty members are forged by the supervision relationship, as well as through numerous informal opportunities to interact with faculty.
Intellectual Activity Our many workshops, lecture series, seminars and roundtables foster a dynamic intellectual environment, and through our Distinguished Visiting Faculty program, students have the opportunity to meet with and learn from some of the world’s finest legal scholars..
Internships In addition to the formal study program, graduate students can participate in internships through the Pro Bono Law Students program and the International Human Rights Program.
