Join us for a one-day symposium on the Future Frontiers of Online Privacy, where a broad range of international experts will discuss the latest issues at the intersection of privacy, technology, and online consumer behavior. Topics will include: Social Media Analytics; Does Technology Shape Privacy, or Does Privacy Shape Technology?; How Does Technology Impact Conceptions of Privacy in Search and Seizure Law?; and Ubiquitous Technological Surveillance, Big Data Analysis, and the Values of the Information Society.
Speakers include Michael Froomkin, Laurie Silvers & Mitchell Rubenstein Distinguished Professor of Law, University of Miami; Susan Freiwald, Professor and Dean's Circle Scholar, University of San Francisco; and Neil Richards, Washington University School of Law, author of ‘Intellectual Privacy: Rethinking Civil Liberties in the Digital Age.’ Our keynote speaker, Stephanie Perrin, President of Digital Discretion, http://www.digitaldiscretion.ca/, will give us first-hand insights into the difficulty of drafting privacy laws that meet their stated objectives.
