Named in memory of one of Canada’s greatest legal scholars and jurists, the late Chief Justice Bora Laskin, one of the founding faculty members of U of T's law school, the Laskin Moot is an annual bilingual moot court competition in Canadian administrative and constitutional law.

Held this year in Montreal, JD students Benjamin Beiles (2L), Navya Sheth (2L), Manreet Brar (3L) and Samar Moghal (3L) advanced to win four awards, including Best School Team and Second Best Factum.

Sheth was also recognized as Best Oralist with Beiles being named runner-up. They were also named Best Pair.

The team’s efforts were supported by third-year JD student coaches Chelsea Gordon, Alex Horbal and Jenna Nadel, as well as Adjunct Moot Advisors William MacLarkey, counsel with Ontario's Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office Civil, Padraic Ryan, counsel at the Constitutional Law Branch of Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General, and Christina Sibian, an Assistant Crown Attorney.
