The Oxford International IP Moot was held from March 19-22, 2025 in Oxford, UK., and for the first time in the moot’s history, the U of T Law team is bringing the trophy back to Toronto!

Third-year students Avital SterninRebecca Tyli and Alessia Woolfe, three of the four all-female team members to win at the 2024 Fox IP Moot, advanced to the Oxford as a result of Avital receiving the DLA Piper award for best mooter in a 2L class.

This year's problem concerned the case Multilever plc v Greenland Supermarket plc [2024] HCE 337. The legal issues in this case relate to registered trade marks, in particular, issues in relation to confusing similarity and the role and content of blurring and tarnishment as trade mark harms.

In total, 32 global teams competed in the oral proceedings, with U of T Law against UTS Law (University of Technology Sydney) in the final, judged by Lord Kitchin, Mr. Justice Meade and Daniel Alexander, KC.

Students from U of T's Faculty of Law have competed in Oxford five times over the past decade and will advance to the Oxford again in 2026.

Congratulations!
