A mission-driven leader, Annette Paul, has joined the Faculty of Law in the role of Assistant Dean, Advancement.

Annette returns to the University of Toronto from Havergal College, where she served as Executive Director, Advancement. In this role, Annette has conceptualized and directed the rebuilding of the advancement function, closed several key gifts across disciplines, and provided leadership to the led the launch of a capital campaign for girls’ athletics.

Annette previously served as Director, Advancement at U of T's Dalla Lana School of Public Health, where she was successful in securing substantial support for areas such as global health, health policy and systems, vaccine preventable diseases and maternal and child health. During this time, she also co-chaired two university-level committees, including on equity, diversity and inclusion in advancement. Annette has also held leadership roles at the School of Business at Queen's University, Queen's University Alma Mater Society, United Way, Youth Employment Service, the YMCA of Greater Toronto and Daily Bread Food Bank.

Annette has held volunteer governance roles at Queen's University as well as with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and with community organizations. She holds an undergraduate degree and a Master in Public Administration, both from Queen's University and is a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE).

"I am thrilled to join the Faculty of Law to lead its advancement efforts in support of bold ideas and ambitious goals that have direct impact upon advocacy, access, and the public interest, and that provide a blueprint for sustainable, equitable solutions that affect individuals, communities, organizations, and national and global agendas," she says.
