Jean-Christophe Bédard-Rubin

Jean-Christophe Bédard-Rubin, an assistant professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, has been awarded the 2024 Marcel-Guy Award. 

The prize, established to honour Marcel Guy, Professor Emeritus and former Dean of the Faculty of Law at Université de Sherbrooke, recognizes the best paper published in the Revue de droit de l'Université de Sherbrooke (RDUS) by an emerging author.

Bédard-Rubin was recognized for his 2023 publication on judicial behavioural analysis in francophone socio-legal studies in Canada.

Supported by Beauchamp Gilbert Notaires, the prize is valued at $1,000 and includes a custom-made trophy by local glass artist Caroline Ouellette. The award ceremony was held on Nov. 14 at the Université de Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Law, where Bédard-Rubin also delivered a lecture.
