Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly (SJD 2023), an assistant professor at the McGill University Faculty of Law, has won the best scholarly paper in the annual legal writing competition by the Fondation du Barreau du Québec (Bar of Quebec)He was recognized for his McGill Law Journal article, "Actions collectives et tribunaux administratifs : un vide juridictionnel à combler" (2022).

Since 1984, the Foundation has held this annual competition to reward distinguished authors, granting a total of $450,000 to winners. The competition features six categories, including, monograph, treaty, new author, collective work and directory and professional practice manual. 

Boulanger-Bonnelly's research focuses on access to justice in civil law, using comparative methods.

He was congratulated by fellow alumnus and McGill Faculty of Law Dean, Robert Leckey (SJD 2006): 

“These accolades highlight the vibrancy of the Faculty of Law’s intellectual community, where our scholars pursue ambitious, innovative, and humanistic legal research.”
