Adjunct Professor

Andrew J.F. KentB.A. (UofT) 1973, J.D. (UofT) 1976, Ontario Bar 1979. For over 25 years while in full time practice at McMillan LLP, Andy was regarded as one of Canada's leading business lawyers with recognized expertise in insolvency law, banking law, and business litigation. His experience enabled Andy to provide leadership both in the boardroom and in the courtroom, and he had significant impact on transaction structures, on case law developments, and on amendments to the insolvency statutes. In 2019 he left McMillan to serve as general counsel of a public company engaged in a 2 year operational turnaround, and he now undertakes select legal and business projects for clients. He has had extensive lecturing experience including as an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. While carrying on a busy practice Andy also served as McMillan's managing partner for a decade leading its transformation into a successful national law firm.
