Thursday, March 24, 2022 - 12:30pm to 2:00pm

Join us to learn about how the law regulates gender, gender expression and actively harms trans communities. We will explore how legal systems and practices could, if at all, be changed for the better, and used to promote safety, autonomy and equity for trans folks. Given the recent rise of transphobic legislation coming out of Canada and the US, the discussion will be framed around movement lawyering in the context of the movement for gender justice.

Hosted by: Uoft Law Union (UTLU), Out in Law at UofT (OiL), the UofT Sexual and Gender Diversity Office (SGDO) and the Centre for Women and Trans People (CWTP).

Panelists: Coming soon!

Closed captioning is available. This is a public event. Please email utlawunion@gmail.com with any questions or concerns, to discuss any accessibility needs, or to let us know if you have a question for the panelists!
