The Faculty of Law invites you and your colleagues to join us for an interactive panel discussion exploring some this year's most significant challenges and opportunities for distressed investing in the US, including lessons learned from 2008.  The panel is hosted by Shearman & Sterling LLP and features opening remarks by U of T law professor Mohammad Fadel.  The program will cover distressed mergers and acquisitions, both chapter 11 and out-of court transactions; trading in distressed securities; issues related to multi-tranche secured debt transactions;  the current state of the US credit markets and litigation in the current environment.

Panelists from Shearman & Sterling LLP include Michael Torkin (Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group Partner), Andrew Tenzer (Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group Partner), Adam Givertz (M&A Group Partner), Scott Petepiece (M&A Group Partner), Michael Baker (Finance Group Partner), Alan Goudiss (Litigation Group Partner). Faculty of Law alumna Jill Frizzley (Senior Associate, Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group ) will be moderating the panel.
