In a rapidly changing world, the legal landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace. On Tuesday, October 17th, the Future of Law Lab, in partnership with the Legal Innovation & Technology Group, is proudly hosted an enlightening and interactive debate that will explore emerging trends in the future of law. Hosted by Professor Anthony Niblett, this innovative event will provide a platform for students to delve into critical topics that are reshaping the legal profession.

What topics will we touch on?

The debate will feature discussions on a wide array of thought-provoking subjects, that may include topics such as the use of generative AI in legal practice, the implications of algorithmic decision-making in the courts, navigating advocacy in the age of social media, challenges posed by self-represented litigants, the ever-pressing concerns of privacy and data governance, and the future of remote work in the legal field. This is a non-exhaustive list of potential topics, so don't stress if we have not listed a topic that is particularly exciting to you. We want to keep the element of surprise!

How will you be involved?

What makes this event truly unique is its student-centric approach. You won't be a spectator, but the main characters on the journey. You will have a chance to engage with each topic, offer your own insights, pose questions, and voice your opinions on the substantive issues that will define the next decade of legal practice.

Who is invited?

This is not a debate in the traditional sense, and you won't need any previous debating experience in order to participate. Everyone is encouraged to come out and, at minimum, listen to the thoughts of your colleagues and classmates. Regardless of your undergraduate background, familiarity with technology, or comfort in public speaking, we invite you to join us for this exciting lunchtime event!
