Elizabeth Schoales holds a B.A, M.A. LL.B and Ph.D, works in animal rights law and advocacy, and has been a devoted advocate for animals and the environment for 20 years. Her interest in ensuring the right of all voices to be heard spills over into her other passion, administrative law. The ombudsperson plays an important role in this area by ensuring fairness in process, treatment and decision-making. During her term as female ombudsperson, Elizabeth will work on making the Office of the Ombudsperson more visible and accessible to members, and take an active part in identifying and reviewing areas of governance that may benefit from an independent eye.
