Instructor(s): Sara Faherty

Note: 1 credit (ungraded)

Student coaches work with mooters to help shape their performance and improve their oral and written advocacy skills.  Coaches will write a paper on a topic related to the problem, but not duplicative of the factum writing the mooters do.  They organize practice rounds and keep a log of factum-writing and run through meetings.

Selection: In order to receive credit in this course, a student must be selected and serve as a student coach to one of the competitive moots for which mooters receive academic credit.

Enrolment:  Email Sara Faherty (sara.faherty@utoronto.ca) before the add/drop deadline to ask to be enrolled in this credit.

Evaluation
To earn this credit, a student must submit (1) a 2,500 to 3,000 word paper on the subject matter of the moot, and (2) a journal documenting the moot run-throughs attended and substantive feedback given to the mooters.
