Note: This course satisfies the "Legal Ethics" graduation requirement.

This course introduces students to legal ethics and professional responsibility. The foundations of ethical reasoning, the Rules of Professional Conduct, and the principles and values which underlie legal ethics will be examined. Topics to be considered may include: the solicitor-client relationship, the roles and responsibilities of the advocate in civil and criminal litigation, conflicts of interest, privilege and confidentiality, whistle-blowing, the roles and responsibilities of corporate or government counsel, and the regulation of the legal profession.
