Gifts of Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities to Law help maximize your tax savings in two ways: a tax credit and zero capital gains inclusion on the disposition of the securities. These savings make appreciated securities a very tax-effective way to make a charitable donation.

Planned Giving

Often described as “leaving a legacy”, most planned gifts are created to make an impact for future generations.

Many options exist for charitable gift planning, including: cash gifts, stock transfers, gifts of RRSPs or RRIFs, life insurance policies and bequests in a will. You can plan your gift to maximize your objectives with whichever method of gift planning method you choose.

To learn more about how you can leave a legacy to the Faculty of Law please contact Matthew Willis, Associate Director, Major Gifts at m.willis@utoronto.ca or call 416-978-1355.
